IP protection level

The IP Protection scale, which stands for Ingress Protection, was developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to measure the intrusion protection of electrical equipment enclosures against solid substances and liquids.


The level of IP protection level consists of two numbers:

The first digit indicates the protection capability of the device against solid substances, ranging from 0 to 6. The higher the number, the higher the level of protection, which can effectively prevent smaller particles from entering the device.
